Recently I had a vision where I was standing with the Lord, and suddenly water began to come out of the ground at a very rapid rate. As it began to rise, it became turbulent and dangerous as it swelled and raged before my eyes.
The Lord said to me, “Step into it.”
I hesitated for a moment and He said, “I will be right here with you, I will never leave you.”
I put my foot into the water and immediately it drew back, leaving a path to cross. The path was narrow and as we walked through I could see light at the other end.
Then He said, “You are in a “cross over” into the new, just as the Israelites crossed through the Red Sea.”
As I sought the Lord on what He had shown me I understood that so many of God’s children have been feeling “stuck”. We are in the time of birthing, literally in the birth canal, walled in on both sides and there is no going back! There is a force behind us pushing us forward, like contractions, and many are feeling the “nesting instinct” to prepare for the birth.
There has been a preparation to reset and restore. God is forcing His people to tie up loose ends; to deal with issues of the heart, to set things right with people, and even to take care of the things that we have not stewarded well, things that have been pushed aside and procrastinated. Many have felt the urge to reconstruct their lives and to change old ways of doing things. As the labor pains grow in intensity there is a renewed sense of determination and weight to pray like never before!
Whenever a woman is in labor she has pain, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy that a child has been born into the world. (John 16:21)
Labor is painful and it causes a lot of pressure, it is not comfortable at all. Things may seem severe and turbulent in the natural and there can be great fear, worry and anxiety that comes from moving forward, but the Lord is speaking to our hearts that when He calls us to do something, He will provide everything we need to accomplish it. “The One who calls you by name is trustworthy and will thoroughly complete His work in you. “ (1 Thes. 5:24 TPT) If He said it, He’ll do it! (MSG). We do not have to do this on our own, He is right here; He will never leave us or forsake us.
There is an urgent desperation upon this because we must be ready! The Lord is posturing His people, but we must cooperate with Him to be in the correct position for the birthing.
“Whatever Jesus tells you, make sure that you do it!” (John 2:5 TPT)
As we fix our eyes on Him, He will lead us and guide us through the process of moving forward into the new.
“Run with passion into His abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover.
I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize, following one path with one passion. (Philippians 3:12-14 TPT)
When we step out in wholehearted obedience, we will see the light at the end of the tunnel. When we make Jesus our goal, only then will we win the “victory-prize” and we will experience the joy of the new birth! “In His presence is the fullness of joy.”(Ps. 16:11)
We are in the final gestation of maturation and the time is drawing very near for the final “push”!
